Maple Syrup Production
Since the mid 1960's the Mason FFA Chapter has continuously operated a Maple Syrup Operation. Many improvements have been made throughout the years implementing new equipment and technologies. Ultimately, the process has remained the same; harvest the sap, boil away the water and can the syrup. Our most recent improvement is a new building or Sugar Shack to process and package the sap. Syrup Production has varied over time from over 495 gallons to as low as 100. Our current average is approximately 150-175 gallons.
